Since day one, President Biden and Vice President Harris have fought to protect access to reproductive health care and defend reproductive freedom. The Biden-Harris Administration took unprecedented executive action to protect access to reproductive health care after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The President and Vice President called on Congress to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade in federal law, and President Biden signed three Executive Orders and a Presidential Memorandum directing his Administration to protect access to reproductive health care, including abortion, contraception, and IVF. These actions include: helping ensure that women receive the care they need in an emergency; protecting access to safe and effective, FDA-approved medication abortion; defending the right to travel for medical care; supporting access to reproductive health care for service members and veterans; expanding access to affordable contraception; and strengthening privacy protections for patients and health care providers.
