Public Engagement Sessions to Gather Additional Feedback on Screening Tool that Will Help Federal Agencies Ensure that the Benefits of Federal Programs are Reaching Disadvantaged Communities

Today, the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) announced additional public listening sessions on the beta version of the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST).

CEQ launched the CEJST in a public beta form so that it could solicit feedback from the public, Tribal Nations, and agencies, and update the tool to ensure it reflects the environmental and climate challenges that communities are experiencing. Last month, after hearing from environmental justice leaders, community-based organizations and allied groups, and members of the public from across the country, CEQ extended the public comment period on the current version of the tool until Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The public listening sessions announced today are an opportunity for CEQ to continue to receive feedback on the tool.
