When I took office, too many American communities had been left behind. Decades of trickle-down economics offshored manufacturing jobs, slashed public investment, and hollowed out communities that were once the backbone of our nation’s growth. My Administration has made historic investments to help left-behind communities, such as distressed areas, factory towns, and coal communities, turn setbacks into comebacks.

Today, I am signing an Executive Order to ensure this support continues, and that left-behind communities have access to the resources they need. Thanks to policies like these, and the commitment of local leaders, places across the country – rural and urban, red and blue – have renewed hope.
