National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met yesterday with Foreign Minister Aïssata Tall Sall of Senegal at the White House.  Mr. Sullivan affirmed the Administration’s commitment to partnering with Senegal and the African Union to tackle shared global challenges.  The National Security Advisor and Foreign Minister discussed the devastating impact of Russia’s war on Ukraine on food security in Africa, and the need to keep global food and fertilizer markets open and functioning.  The National Security Advisor and Foreign Minister agreed to deepen cooperation, including on maritime issues, and Mr. Sullivan commended Senegal’s leadership to address insecurity in West Africa.
