Readout of National Cyber Director Chris Inglis’s Roundtable with Foreign Dignitaries Following Launch of the Declaration for the Future of the Internet

Following a White House event where the United States and 60 partners from around the globe launched the Declaration for the Future of the Internet, National Cyber Director Chris Inglis held a closed roundtable discussion on Thursday with representatives from partner nations. They discussed ways to collaborate to improve cybersecurity and achieve the Declaration’s vision of an open, inclusive Internet that fosters competition, protects privacy, and defends human rights.  Participants emphasized the important role of both the public sector and the private sector in achieving cybersecurity outcomes.  The partners discussed the role of the multistakeholder system of Internet governance in supporting the Declaration’s vision, including cybersecurity goals such as ensuring trust and confidence in the digital ecosystem.  Participants highlighted forward-looking ideas and emphasized the importance of taking action to achieve their shared, positive vision for the Internet.
